Movie genres: Science Fiction (sci-fi) Science fiction, majorly known as Sci-Fi, is a genre that mainly incorporates hypothetical scientific ideas in its plots. This includes features such as aliens, space, advanced futuristic technology, questionable outcomes of the future etc. It's main plot purposes raises issues to audiences of things such as the danger of knowledge in society and what it can lead to, ie Frankenstein. It may also raise awareness to things such as society's anxiety to technology and the idea that it may seem good and useful when its working but what happens when it starts to turn against people, and things such as robots start to turn dangerous, an example would be The Terminator for instance, with its evil robots and advanced AI.  However, the movie The Terminator also includes another feature of Sci-Fi; the idea of time.                      The Great Gatsby film sequence analysis The sequence starts off with a medium close up of the character Nick, disheveled and looking through a window longingly. This camera angle used shows Nick's character, in the start of the sequence, to look rugged and unkept in an attempt to make the audience question what has put him in this situation, as well as to highlight that he is the sole narrator of the montage that is about to begin, as he is the only character presented at the start of the scene. The sequence then moves on to focus on the city of New York where it features an extreme long shot of the city and its skyscrapers to show the audience one of the main settings of the film and to get them familiarised with the environment that is going to be featured.
